The proverbial dust is starting to settle for which has become for me the biggest event in gravel cycling. This years @unboundgravel has proven to be an event that lives up to the hype.

From my perspective it is the place to test my skills and be the canvas to tell only a few of the thousands of stories from thousands of people from all walks of life that find a common thread of riding a bicycle.
.
.
It has now tasked me with the responsibility and opportunity to tell a story, provide perspective, talk to unique people and showcase the race in its raw form. It has always been about bringing the humanity of cycling to people by showing not only success but the preparation, vulnerable moments and heartbreak this event can bring.

There is no way I could make the videos of the live coverage and YouTube Doc possible without the support and generosity of @ventumracing for opening their home to me and believing in my vision. @hanner.knapp to brainstorm, strategize and execute stories. @kr15 for taking amazing photos and reflecting on how this event had changed so much in a short period of time. @allenskratch for the hugs and oxytocin boost. And the riders who trusted me to put them on camera and tell their stories @annnahicks @ctory1 @zachcalton.

Another @belgianwaffleride is in the books and this one was quite the event! Our BWR started much earlier with riders coming into town as we opened our home to host, ride, film and help out in any way we could.
In the end I hope we could make an impact on the event as well as the riders who put so much on the line to do their best on race day.
The goal is to tell a story that captures the essence of the experience and showcase that to anyone who will watch. Stay tuned as the video will be out hopefully soon!

I think the first time I interviewed @pstetina was

I think the first time I interviewed @pstetina was at the top of Gibraltar mountain at the Amgen Tour of California back in 2018. The whole cycling world seemed to be different back then. Gravel racing was still grass roots and the next year he did BWR for the first time and he’s been in it ever since. At Unbound I interviewed him again. He was just as tired, more dirty but seemed content and happy. Gravel can do that. I’ve found a bit of a niche within the sport when it comes to storytelling and I don’t think it could be done in any other space. Gravel can do that.

It was great to be back at @unboundgravel capturin

It was great to be back at @unboundgravel capturing all the action, insights and thoughts of everyone that makes this event so special. I spent the day playing leapfrog with the lead group with @jelaile and @_joshuawstrong amidst some intense weather conditions.

It’s quite amazing to see through a literal lens the raw physical struggle that these riders went through in the dirt, tarmac and yes tons of mud.
.
It was great to commune with fellow media and experience this race with true artists and storytellers like @kriswhull @thebootsappeal @photowil @roszko @velophoto.tx @hanner.knapp @avery_stumm @dominiquepowers @dannycarp @danny.awang @ben_delaney and others.
.
Of course like so many out there, I put pressure on myself to tell a memorable story. I would not be able to tell the story of Unbound without the help, care and support of @skratchlabs @allenskratch @firstendurance @ircbike_official @felt.bicycles.usa @chamoisbuttr @envecomposites
